Green Vehicle Show: Sat 21st Sept

Sidmouth will be hosting two vehicle events at the cricket ground on Saturday 21st September:

Alternative Energy Vehicle Event

When:
Where: Cricket Ground, The Fortfield, Sidmouth, Devon, EX10 8NT
Display of energy efficient new vehicles of various brands

Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce and Crash Box Classic Car Club of Devon are organising this classic car show and family day out in Sidmouth.

As an added attraction there, SVEAG will present an Alternative Energy Vehicle Show with a large selection of the latest Electric and Hybrid powered vehicles, which show how technological advances already enable manufacturers to produce fuel efficient and low emission vehicles. This will provide a fascinating contrast to the large and diverse range of Classic and Vintage Cars on display.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) exists to support and promote the interests of the UK automotive industry at home and abroad. They publish a report annually on the average emissions by new cars, which makes for interesting reading especially if you intend to visit the show or are considering acquiring a new car.
(In case of adverse weather the event may be moved to the Manor Road Car Park)

Double delight as car events combine in Sidmouth

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

THE past and future of motoring will be on show when two successful Sidmouth events combine in September.
A Green Vehicle Show and Classic Car Show were independent hits last year – and now organisers have joined forces.
The Sid Valley Energy Action Group (SVEAG), Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce and The Crash Box Club of Devon have got together with Sidmouth Cricket Club to present the event on Saturday, September 21. Festivities will provide a fascinating contrast between preserved classic and vintage cars on display and the latest alternative energy vehicles.
It will demonstrate how technology is being used to produce fuel efficient and low emission transport.
SVEAG leaders say the aim is to encourage the community to think about how it can save energy and reduce carbon emissions.
Most of the exhibits will be electric and hybrid cars that can be bought today at the showrooms of the local distributors who are supporting the show.
“It will be a unique meeting of the old and the new - a rare chance for motoring enthusiasts of all ages to see the best of the past and the future,” said the SVEAG’s Joel Venn.
The show will be open from 11am to 3pm.
