The meeting to consider the District Council's proposals to relocate will be on Friday 8th November starting 1.30pm at the East Devon Business Centre in Honiton.

Dear Mr CrickFurther to our last stakeholder briefing, we would like to ask you to join us to hear about the progress we are making in relation to determining the location of the Council’s headquarters.Following a decision in July by East Devon District Council’s Members to relocate, we have been considering and weighing up all the site options which have come forward.As already outlined to you, whichever option we choose, we are seeking to achieve the following outcomes:· Financially viable – ‘fit for purpose’ , flexible and functional accommodation that places no extra burden on the East Devon taxpayer

· Open for Business – somewhere viable for a modern forward looking Council offering services that are accessible for all our customers and working practices that mean they can access services in the ways that suit them best
· Well equipped – an office space that maximises the use of space and technology for the benefit of our customers and the productive working of our staff and councillors.
We have now considered all the potential sites which were presented to us and have reduced these to 4 potentially viable options to be considered by Cabinet and Council. We would now like to take this opportunity to discuss with you how we have gone about this process and to give you more information on the options which we would like to put before our Cabinet on 27 November for their discussion.We would very much like to invite you to this session on Friday 8 November from 1.30 – 3.30pm at the East Devon Business Centre in Honiton.The session will be introduced by Councillor Ray Bloxham, followed by a presentation and questions and answer session led by Richard Cohen, Deputy Chief Executive. He has made clear the context for the meeting and the outcomes sought from the move, though I am somewhat unclear about how "stakeholders" for this move have been identified or what outcomes are sought from this meeting.
