Skypark: the current reality on site is not quite the same as computer-generated publicity...

The image on the home page at eastdevon.gov.uk for the proposed Skypark home of the District Council looks very exciting:

SkyPark.

East Devon District Council - Moving and Improving

Indeed, it is given further publicity in the special 'East Devon Extra' pamphlet:
www.eastdevon.gov.uk/east_devon_extra_office_relocation_feb14.pdf

There is further glamorous PR available on-line:
SkyPark Fly Through - SkyPark Exeter
E.On District Heating Fly Through - SkyPark Exeter

However, the picture is not a photograph: it is an 'artist's impression'...

This has been brought to our attention by a Sidmouth resident who has written to the District Council asking for a little 'balance':

"The picture of Skypark currently being displayed on the council's home page is only a computer generated vision of what the site might look like in several years time. Not many east devon residents will realise that as most don't even know where it is let alone how it currently looks, so will form a misguided view about the relocation decision - probably your reason for posting it.
In the interests of balance, accuracy and honesty will you please also display the same aerial view of how the site actually is at the moment?"

Here is the reality on the ground from Google Maps:

And from the ground - thanks to another local resident:

The site really is not only rather empty at the moment but rather unattractive - and so is very much in need of new tenants...
