The District Council has challenged the Information Commissioner's decision notice that it should make reports on Knowle public:

Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project: further FOI requests

There were two questions pertaining to this matter from independent Councillor Claire Wright at this week's full council meeting:

Four questions and a motion for tomorrow evening’s EDDC full council meeting
Tuesday, 22 July 2014 0 Comments by Claire
Below are my four questions (mainly to EDDC’s leader, Cllr Paul Diviani), for Wednesday’s (tomorrow) full council meeting.
I also have submitted a motion about my concerns that democracy is being stifled at the council - here - http://www.claire-wright.org/index.php/post/east_devon_independent_councillors_worried_over_desire_to_stifle_democracy

1. Is the leader aware of the growing support, including among local MPs, for a cut in tourism VAT?

2. It was agreed that a task and finish forum would be set up to look at better protecting our trees, last October.  As yet there has been no progress. Can the portfolioholder for the environment please confirm when the first meeting will take place?

3.  Can the leader please explain why this council has appealed against an information commissioner’s ruling on publishing an important survey on the state of the Knowle buildings?

4. Please confirm the cost to EDDC, of the information commissioner’s public hearing on publishing the survey, which takes place on 28 August.
Also coming before full council (within the June cabinet minutes - not as a separate item) is a proposal to significantly restrict public speaking at planning committee meetings. There is likely to be a robust debate on this!
The meeting starts at 6.30pm and will be held at EDDC’s offices, Knowle.  I am aware that other independent councillors also have submitted questions and motions.

At the meeting, the Chief Executive Officer answered the fourth question as follows:

" I don't know" what the cost to the EDDC of the Information Commissioner's public hearing on publishing the Davis Langdon reports will be...
"We have never been to one, so we don't know" how much it will cost.
