Friends of the Byes: looking back over an outstanding year

The community volunteer group Friends of the Byes has proved very successful in its fifth year.

A message from the chair of the group from earlier in the year:

Awards:

Friends of the Byes have been awarded the London and Manchester cup by the RHS Britain in Bloom South West 2014, for outstanding contribution to environmental initiative.
Sidmouth’s entry was organised by the hardworking Sidmouth in Bloom team.
All the supporters and volunteers for Friends of The Byes have made many small steps over the past few years to create a much improved area and this award is lovely recognition to everyone involved.

FOTB also received an award from the RHS ‘It’s your Neighbourhood award’ of Level 5 – Outstanding. This is the highest score in this category.

To Join Friends of The Byes for some gentle volunteering, please phone Kati on 07817 041239 or email FOTByes@gmail.com

Photo Competition:

Viewing all the photos will be well worth a visit.

We did receive some of the photos in digital format, they are displayed on our Facebook page:
Please have a look and 'Like' your favourites.

Volunteering:

Thanks to all the volunteers that have been helping with putting more wild flower perennials into the Orchard
... and replacing some damaged trees near Water Lane that were unfortunately fatally damaged by a strimmer.

Kind Regards
Michael Horsnell
