Knowle relocation project: "Impressive 1880s Victorian heritage"

Two years ago, English Heritage rejected an application to list the former Knowle Hotel:
Futures Forum: Knowle: Victorian hotel and grounds ... application to English Heritage for national listing

However, the campaign group SAVE Britain's Heritage disagreed:

As did the Devon Garden's Trust:
Futures Forum: Knowle: Victorian grounds: Devon Gardens Trust

In fact, several groups felt the building should be afforded some protection:
Futures Forum: Knowle: Victorian hotel: heritage asset or not...

English Heritage has, nevertheless, made it clear that the building is highly regarded locally:

“The alterations that have occurred both to the gardens and the house mean that neither meets the criteria for designation in a national context, though they are evidently highly-valued by the local community.”
