Friends of the Byes: looking forward into the new year

This is what the Byes looked like a couple of winters ago:

And looking to the new year, here's the latest from the FOTB newsletter:

Dear Friends of The Byes

Happy New Year wishes to you all.

Friends of the Byes have had a great year adding to the beauty of the Byes, by planting another new wild flower meadow, many more hedge and tree saplings, more fruit trees, lots of bulbs, helping maintain the trees planted in previous years and all while having a nice social along the way.

You can all get involved in the Byes during 2015 in whatever way you are able, so we can all make the Byes an even more welcoming and fulfilling place to visit for both wildlife and human visitors.

Please drop Kati a line if you would like to join in any of our volunteer events. The more the merrier.

Please drop myself a line if you feel you can help in other ways, such as organising, planting advice, fundraising, or if you have any other ideas to improve the Byes during 2015. fotbyes@gmail.com

Saturday 3rd January 2015, some of us volunteers will continue the wildlife hedge planting we have been doing in the Community Orchard and freshen up the mulch around the orchard trees. Please join us at 10am for a couple of hours light volunteer work.

Volunteer days in January are going to continue weekly, weather permitting we will be planting, mulching and maintaining trees and hedges.

Please meet in the Community Orchard in the Byes at 10am for a couple of hours gentle volunteering. All ages welcome, bring warm clothes and warm drink.
