Big Ideas Challenge
Launch Party
9 September
Come along to Potter’s Cafe, Durngate Street, Dorchester at 6pm on Wednesday 9th September to cut and eat the BIG Ideas cake. The Challenge asks young people aged 7-24 to come up with solutions that help tackle climate change, the winner could win anamazing ...
West Dorset
Open Eco Homes
10-13 September
This year, Hilfield Friary and 19 homes will be open! Owned and rented, normal houses adapted, and homes built from scratch.  Latest technical engineering and building from straw!  It cracks off with a "How to Build an Eco Home" talk on Thursday evening. More
Six Dorset Community Energy Solar PV installations completed
Dorset Community Energy has now completed the 3 larger PV installations on the roofs of Dorchester Middle School, The Thomas Hardye School, Dorchester and the roof of the Sports Hall at Lytchett Minster School near Wimborne.
The final step is registration of the 3 school solar PV installations for Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) with Good Energy, which will be completed in early Septembermore.

As part of Dorset Food Week on Wednesday 28th October, 4-9pm, join us for the Square Meal Debate at Kingston Maurward College in Dorchester. In the run up to the Climate Summit in Paris this December, CLS will be raising awareness of the links between our food system, public health and climate change. Read more here

£1,000 Energy Efficiency grants for community buildings 
Grants of up to £1,000 for village halls, scout huts and other community buildings.  Buildings must be in Western Power Distribution area (Bridport is in, Dorchester is out) details here

1. Communing to save energy
It's Community Energy Fortnight (5th - 20th) , so we are celebrating our 6 community owned solar PV systems, and asking you to support future community energy.
2. Can you go Zero Waste?
It's Zero Waste Week(7th - 13th)
Save one item each day that would otherwise go in the bin and find a new use for it.
3. Go Car FREE on 22nd September -WORLD Car Free day.
Can you go car free and get your family, street, workplace to join you?
