The Town Council have decided to go ahead with putting together a Neighbourhood Plan:
Futures Forum: Neighbourhood Plan for Sidmouth: Town Council votes to start process

The District Council has embraced the process, with more and more towns embarking on their own:
Neighbourhood plans being produced in East Devon - Lympstone - East Devon

Sidmouth's County Councillor has been a long-term advocate of the Plan:

The Vision Group has had several meetings over the years:
