A proposal for Port Royal from a tongue-in-the-cheek correspondent:

“A plan for the Port Royal, introducing some old favourites ie multi-story car park and the new elevated bye-pass resolving Sidmouth’s traffic congestion problem at a stroke.

Constructed above the River Sid the dual carriage Byes Highway connects the Esplanade to the Sidford Retail Park and the EDBF at Heathpark.

The salvaged cabins of the Napoli holds pride of place as a seafront icon while the containers have been installed as affordable slab apartments.

Also the much missed gasometers are reintroduced to store the Shale Gas.”
