Can we trust big business? >>> Big oil, free enterprise and crony capitalism

The oil industry is a powerful lobby:

It has been part of the 'free enterprise' or 'neoliberal' think tank system from the beginning:

And joined others very soon after their inception:

One of the basic tenets of the 'free enterprise' agenda has been 'respect for property':

However, when it comes to drilling for oil or shale:

And we do have the issue of 'crony capitalism' which just won't go away:

Business and its place in society is a prominent issue at the moment. Zero hours contracts, executive pay, tax avoidance are all issues where opinion has shifted dramatically. Has Shareholder driven capitalism finally gone too far?
