This evening, Turn Lyme Green will be hosting a event in Lyme Regis which will of interest to both businesses and communities:

GOING GREEN IS GOOD FOR BUSINESS

MARCH Meeting:  This Tuesday, 13^th    Driftwood Café.  Baptist Church. Silver Street.  7.15 for 7.30pm

Turn Lyme Green is hosting an open discussion to share the practicalities, and business benefits, of 'going green', highlighting the awards and rewards available to those who succeed. Some local business owners who have already put plans in place will talk about their experiences.  Information will be available on local initiatives—including ReFill, recycling,  Business Award Scheme, alternatives to single use plastics.  All are welcome to this chance to share ideas.  We are grateful to the Baptist Church for hosting this meeting in their new Driftwood Café.  Refreshments available.

PROGRESS to PLASTIC FREE LYME REGIS

Jo Smith Oliver spoke at the February Town Council meeting urging it to support a campaign for Lyme Regis to earn the title of ‘Plastic Free Lyme Regis’.  We are now looking forward to a positive response from the full Town Council at its next meeting in March.  This week The Tourism, Community and Publicity Committee has voted to support the plastic-free status and to working together to publicise the ways our community can all contribute at home, at work and on the seafront.  Read the full report in Lyme Online to get up-to-date on the Plastic Free Coastlines scheme promoted by Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) .  Lyme Regis is on the way to joining over 120 other communities around the country pledging to tackle plastic pollution.
