Sidford business park >> campaign group's tenth update > "We are not against development per se but this really is the worst possible site bearing in mind the lack of pavements, existing danger to pedestrians from current levels of traffic, together with the fact that it will be on a flood plain and will harm our Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty."

It's all happening in ten days' time:
Futures Forum: Sidford business park >> campaign group's ninth update >>> protest Monday 23rd July @ 4pm

                                          Protest against the Business Park

Monday 23 July

Meet in the Salty Monk’s car park – 4.00pm

Accompanied children, well behaved dogs and adults of all ages welcome!

To highlight just how inappropriate the proposed development of the industrial estate, otherwise known as a business park, at Two Bridges Road, Sidford, would be, the Say NO campaign will be holding a public demonstration near the proposed site in Sidford on 23rd July.  Please come and join us to make your feelings known.

We will assemble in the Salty Monk car park at 4.00pm.  The plan is to cross the pedestrian crossing in Church Street, then make our way up England’s Close to the top of Laundry Lane before dispersing. The press has been invited to attend.

It would be much appreciated if we could have a mix of age groups to show that local residents, young and older, are equally opposed to the planned industrial estate on this site.

We are not against development per se but this really is the worst possible site bearing in mind the lack of pavements, existing danger to pedestrians from current levels of traffic, together with the fact that it will be on a flood plain and will harm our Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Please bring placards, the more humorous the better.  To indicate the problems associated with this site, you may also like to:

>Ask your children to wear water wings or other safety items - this would highlight that the planned site is on a flood plain and the proposed use of Laundry Lane as a route for flood water.
>Bring a clothes peg /a face mask to put on your nose/face – this would highlight that South West Water has commented about the noxious niffs from the neighbouring sewage works.
>Wear high vis jackets – to not only make you visible but also to highlight the due to safety issues associated with the A375.

Please bring your purses and wallets with you as we will be collecting for funds to keep the campaign going. Every piece of paper we have to print costs money!

In order that we can plan for how many people will be coming along please let us know that you intend to attend.

We look forward to seeing you on 23 July.

Best wishes
Campaign Team
