Events ranging from talks to explorations of the brain made this year’s Sidmouth Science Festival a success despite the weather.

Saturday saw children and adults looking at brain waves, making tornadoes, exploding a volcano and being a weather forecaster.
There were also many talks spanning a variety of subjects with Professor Iain Stewart giving a talk at the Manor Pavilion.

A team from King’s College, London, used choppy sea waves to help educate children on brainwaves.
There was a packed Sunday schedule at the Norman Lockyer Observatory including an entertaining microscope talk by the One Show’s Dr Marty Jopson and jet car racing.

Liz Bramley of the Science Festival team said: “It has been really great to see so many people enjoying the events at this year’s Sidmouth Science Festival. We managed to deliver a packed programme despite the weather.”
