Free Winter Concert to support the Repair Café > Sunday 18th November

The Sidmouth Gospel Choir will be putting on a free concert at St Francis Church this coming Sunday (18th November).

This is contemporary gospel with a big sound, but “with an infections, heart-warming feel.” It is an inclusive, community choir which is open to anyone of any faith or no faith at all. Soloists Lucy Dary and Andrew Torjussen will be leading the evening from the Choir.

As organiser Angie Carney says, “this will make for a wonderful winter concert.” Angie is both a founder member of the Choir and its leader until two years ago – before she  then went on to be Community Development Manager for the Salvation Army in Sidmouth.

Angie is also the chair of the newly-formed Sidmouth Repair Café. This project is all about trying to help people fix things rather than throw them away – from clothes to toasters and mowers to toys and prams.

As Angie says: “As well as hearing some great music, you'll hear some more about the Repair Cafe, have an opportunity to chat to some of us... and make a donation towards Sidmouth Repair Cafe too.”

The concert starts at St Francis Church on Woolbrook Road on Sunday 18th November at 7pm.

And the next Repair Café will be at the Youth Centre on Manstone Lane on Saturday 24th November between 10am and 1pm.
