SATURDAY 19 OCTOBER

MEDICINAL PLANTS : the science behind herbal remedies

Anne Stobart, lecturer and consultant medical herbalist from the Medicinal Forest Garden Trust will give us an opportunity to have hands on experience in identifying plants, to see a variety of herbal preparations and to gain some knowledge about key plant constituents and their medicinal actions. From historical recipes to modern pharmacological research, both adults and children can learn about safety and herbal medicine.       Based at Kennaway House, free entry 11am -5pm.

JOIN AN AUTUMN WALK LED BY HUGH ANGUS  - Hugh is our dendrologist consultant and is building up a loyal following for his spring and autumn walks around the town and surrounding valley.
