The Big Butterfly Count >>> join in 15th July - 7th August

The big count is upon us again:

Dear Jay,

Can you spare 15 minutes to help save butterflies? Join Sir David Attenborough and take part in the Big Butterfly Count. This year’s slow spring and a soggy start to the summer could pose a risk to our common species. We are hoping that the warmer weather forecast this weekend could entice the Red Admirals and Peacocks to put in an appearance.
What Is The Big Butterfly Count?
The Big Butterfly Count is the largest insect survey in the world. We need your butterfly sightings to find out how different species are faring across the UK. This helps us target our work to protect the butterflies and moths struggling to survive in our ever-changing environment.
How Can I Join In?
Print a chart or download the free app to your phone or tablet. Find a sunny spot outdoors and get butterfly spotting! With the app you can identify and log your sightings while you are out and about. If you use the chart to record your butterfly sightings, don't forget to log on to the Big Butterfly Count website to tell us what you've seen.
Can I Do More To Help?
Spread the word! The more we learn about butterflies the better we can protect them.

Visit the the Big Butterfly Count website for lots of ideas of ways you can get your friends and family involved. You can do as many counts as you like - please submit as many sightings as you can between now and 15 August.
