"Three Acres And A Cow - A history of land rights and protest in folk song and story" >>> Saturday 7th October >>> Monkton-Wyld: Charmouth: Dorset

What do we understand by 'the commons' today?
Futures Forum: Transition and the Commons
Futures Forum: The new enclosures >>> the commons and privatizing public space

And what would a 'land tax' achieve?
Futures Forum: A land conference: Exeter: Saturday 21st March >>>>> "How can we grow a proper relationship between people and place?"
Futures Forum: A solution to our housing problems >>> a land value tax

It's all about who owns the land and who has the rights to access to the land:

A History of Land Rights and Protest:  Monkton Wyld, this Saturday

There will be a performance taking place at Monkton Wyld Court this Saturday evening.  The show is "Three Acres And A Cow - A history of land rights and protest in folk song and story" .

The show connects the Norman Conquest and Peasants’ Revolt with current issues like fracking, the housing crisis and food sovereignty via the Enclosures, English Civil War, Irish Land League and Industrial Revolution, drawing a compelling narrative through the radical people’s history of Britain in folk song, stories and poems.

Part TED talk, part history lecture, part folk club sing-a-long, part poetry slam, part storytelling session…

Come and share in these tales as they have been shared for generations.  Tickets   £10  from:  http://www.threeacresandacow.co.uk/monkton-wyld

The show follows a day of workshops and presentations:   LandBase Skill Share on Saturday 7th October. Full details here:
