27 March 2018Another important step forward in the council’s relocation plans
Following on from its successful appeal, PegasusLife has now formally confirmed that the planning permission for its redevelopment of East Devon District Council’s offices at the Knowle in Sidmouth is acceptable.
This means that the contract of sale between PegasusLife and the council is now unconditional and both parties are, respectively, committed to buy and sell the Knowle site.
Meanwhile, Blackdown House, the new HQ being built for the council which overlooks the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty, is well underway at our Heathpark site in Honiton.
The target for completion and occupation is December 2018. It is expected that PegasusLife will start developing the Knowle site next spring.
Cllr Paul Diviani, Leader of the council, said:
This is another important step in the council’s relocation project. Moving to our new HQ in Honiton is a key strand in our transformation strategy and our continued journey in reducing costs and protecting the high quality services that we offer to our residents despite the challenging financial context.
However, meanwhile, the FOI request to see the full, unredacted Viability Report from PegasusLife has now gone to the Information Commissioner:

In which case, one has to wonder about the 'financial context' of the deal to sell the Knowle site:
