Pegasus Life planning application for Knowle. Deadline for YOUR comments this Wednesday 15 JUNE

These pictures, drawn from measurements in Pegasus Life’s documents, are what it is believed the development will look like from Station Road (compared with the present view) :
Please note that Sidmouth Town Council’s objection to the application carries little weight on its own. It will be considered along with other comments from Consultees and from the public. Obviously, the numbers of objections (which must be based on Planning Considerations) is important.
For examples, see comments already sent in to: Simple Search
The full documentation can be seen here:
16/0872/MFUL | The construction of an assisted living community for older people comprising extra care units, staff accommodation and communal facilities, including a kitchen, restaurant/bar/cafe, a well-being suite comprising gym, treatment rooms and pool, a communal lounge and storage facilities; car parking for residents, visitors and staff of the assisted living community; comprehensive landscaping comprising communal and private spaces; and associated groundworks. | Council Offices Knowle Sidmouth EX10 8HL
The most useful document is the applicant's Design and Access Statement - which is on the second last page of the 'associated documents': the pdf is 2267755, dated May 6, 2016.
Although on the Streetlife blog, it has been noted how off-putting the amount of documentation from the developer is:
Please everyone. I know that it is overwhelming to look at all their stuff and consider wading through it but most of it is repetition and so doesn't need everyone to read it. Almost every document seems to include the history of Sidmouth from Roman times, the history of the Knowle from the time it was built, and a detailed discussion of Sidmouth Conservation Areas.
Just try to read, or skim, the Planning, Design and Access Statement and hand in a comment. It doesn't really matter whether it is for or against the application but we need to show we care enough to engage in the process.
And later:
Yes, it is difficult to get one's head round the fact that personal opinion or preference is of no importance in planning law as even Pegasus haven't grasped that!
A lot of the stuff they have submitted is merely opinion even though they have backed it up with huge amounts of research from everywhere. If the research isn't relevant to the point you are making it is worthless.
