Due to
several unforeseen problems with insurance for the planned Dog Show in the Byes
on 23rd August 2014, we have taken the decision to postpone it until
early next year. Please inform anyone who you told about this event.

still going ahead with the photo competition and entries are coming in, so
please do enter, as ALL entries will be displayed later in October. The more
entries the better, so please do send an entry in.

Here is
a reminder of volunteer dates which everyone is welcome to join in, whatever
your physical ability or horticultural knowledge.
Sat 16th August:
Building
wildlife log piles in Orchard. Clearing Toll house entrance bed. Cutting back of
large weeds in Orchard. Pruning of Plums. Putting on sponsorship
labels.
Sat 30th August:
Installing two picnic benches in Orchard.
Collection of Wild Flower seeds, please bring paper bags. Preparing a herb
circle in Orchard
Sat 13th September:
Planting
trees along river Sid to help shore up the banks. Cut back wildlife hedging.
Clean around benches and tree copses with strimming and mulches.
*Meet in
Community Orchard 10 - 12 midday unless other arrangements are made.
