Cycling in the Sid Valley >>> focus group survey

The Streetlife forum has been flagging an intiative from the Neighbourhood Plan steering group - to get more feedback on where to go with cycling:
Futures Forum: Cycling focus group: feeding into the Neighbourhood Plan >>> fill in the questionnaire

Here is a fresh thread with a couple more details:

Cycling in the Sid Valley

Claire R  in Sidmouth
There is a cycling focus group on behalf of the Sid Valley Neighbourhood Plan. I'm interested in people's views:

1. Do you feel safe cycling in the roads
2. Do you have suggestions about where traffic free paths to link the four communities (Salcombe Regis, Sidbury, Sidford, Sidmouth) could be
3. Do you think traffic calming would help more people of all ages feel safe enough to cycle

In communities where people of all ages can travel sustainably on foot rather than in a vehicle there are benefits to health, wellbeing, the environment and community cohesion.

I have a questionnaire I can send out if you private message me with your address.

Thanks
Claire Russell

Many of us were dismayed about the planned extension fromThe Byes to Sidford and Sidbury being cancelled. The employment estate was refused permission but who knows whether EDDC and developers will try again. Until then, we may still have a planning blight to overcome.  Perhaps people will come together to make a rationale case for the plan to be reinstated.

EDDC refused the planning permission. It's not them that have to try again. The developers wanted to build the industrial estate and they I am sure will try again as you say Peter M. The cycle track is stuck until something happens which is a. If shame. The landowner could of course just give it his blessing......?!
