As reported last week, the Say No to Sidford Business Park campaign is asking for help to get a petition together:

Campaign Update 8
That was a fabulous week of weather it has been, although for some of us it has been a bit too much. The rain yesterday will be welcomed by those gardeners amongst us; but watch out as the weeds now push up with even more vigour!
As we informed you in the last email campaign update, and as the Sidmouth Herald reported on Friday, we are intending to launch a petition opposing the application. We would anticipate handing this petition into the District Council ahead of any Development Management Committee meeting (its planning committee) that considers the application.
In order to obtain signatures for the petition we will be undertaking door to door conversations with residents across Sidford and Sidbury in the first instance. We will be starting collecting signatures as from next Monday, 9 July.
Thank you to those who have already volunteered, although we could always use more volunteers to collect signatures which we will be undertaking in an organised manner. Initially, we need volunteers to collect signatures in both Sidford and Sidbury from 6.00 – 8.00pm on Monday 9, Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 July. We have also decided to collect door to door signatures during the following week on Monday 16, Tuesday 17, Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 July.
Please consider volunteering for one or a number of these dates as the more properties we can contact the better. Please email back saying when you will volunteer to help and once we have collated this we will then contact those who have volunteered to arrange how we will approach each evening.
In addition, we will be having street stalls in the centre of Sidmouth on Saturdays 14 and 21 July. At these stalls we will again be collecting signatures for the petition, and we are also seeking volunteers to help collect the signatures at the stalls. Please think about also volunteering to help out at some point on either or both of these Saturdays and email us to let us know if you will help out.
We will also be launching the petition on-line to make it very quick and easy to sign up to. Once this is on line we will publicise the link to it.
We are having some large NO Sidford Business Park signs printed (approximately 4 x 3 feet in size, similar to those that political parties get their supporters to erect) which we would like to have displayed outside properties in Sidford and Sidbury. If you would be willing to have one placed outside your property please let us know and we will be happy to help you put it up. A wooden pole can be supplied.
We look forward to hearing from you regarding the collection of petition signatures and placing of signs.
Best wishes
Campaign Team
