The Rugby World Cup will be the central theme for this year’s Sidmouth and Sidford Community Festival which is being held on Saturday August 22 at Sidford Football pitches.Organised by East Devon District Council’s housing team, the event – from 1pm to 4pm – is free and will include plenty of activities all centred around the exciting world cup event which begins in September.
With sideshows, games and stalls, many of the town’s local community groups will be providing the entertainment including Sidmouth Town Band, Honiton Ukulele Band and JM DanceFit and much, much more.
For the children, there will be bouncy castles, tag rugby, beat the goalie, circus skills and craft making.
Sidmouth Rugby Football Club will be providing a BBQ with refreshments.
Councillor Stuart Hughes, Chairman of East Devon District Council, said the event promises to be a great day for all the family. He said:
We have a growing number of community organisations in Sidmouth and Sidford and this is a great opportunity for people to come along and find out all about them while having some fun too.
