A month ago, a senior doctor in the Sid Valley made it clear that there needed to be more care provided at home to offset these pressures:
Futures Forum: "The loss of community hospital beds was intended to be offset by increasing the capacity of community care... Unfortunately there is not sufficient capacity in the home care services to do this job."
He has just reiterated this - saying that the only way the increasing demands on hospitals can be met is through proper provision in people's homes:
