Under the name Bike Friendly Cities a number of European partners joined forces for their regional bicycle friendly projects, with the aim to expand and exchange their knowledge on sustainable mobility. The projects are financed with a grant from the European Interreg 2 Seas Programme and run from 2011 to summer 2014. The project goal is to establish and promote cycling as a sustainable, clever, healthy and fun form of transport in cities. And to increase the attractiveness of cycling in general and cycle facilities and services in cities across the Two Seas Region.

The partners bring in their own subprojects, varying around the themes of movement, road safety, bicycle parking, health and bicycle services. Each project is jointly approached and by exchanging views, the different parties benefit from each other's experience and knowledge.

The project consists of 9 partners from all countries of the 2 Seas region:
This website will function as an online platform where policy makers and BFC project partners exchange ideas and knowledge on cycling projects and on how to become a Bike Friendly City.
