"Anyone can ask for a planning application to be called-in."

There are two controversial planning applications expected next month or thereabouts:

Futures Forum: Sidford business park: and Alexandria Rd business park and the Local Plan >>> so many questions and so few answers
FORDS: ‘Our £5million Sidmouth jobs vision’ - News - Sidmouth Herald

and:

Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project >>> Pegasus plans in full >>> updated >>> planning application due in March
District council to start town hall move ‘by May’ - News - Exmouth Journal'

Last July, rules around calling a planning application in were modified:

GOVERNMENT BRIEFING PAPER: CALLING IN PLANNING APPLICATIONS

5 JUL 2015

Anyone can ask for a planning application to be called-in. Applications for a planning application to be called-in should be directed to:

National Planning Casework Unit 5 St Philips Place
Colmore Row
Birmingham
B3 2PW

Tel: 0303 444 8050
Email: npcu@communities.gsi.gov.uk

Applicants should give clear reasons why they think that the application should be called-in, including why it is of more than local importance. For further information see the Planning Inspectorate Procedural Guide: Called-in planning applications – England.
