Neighbourhood Planning with the CPRE: 18th March >>> "The Government is absolutely clear, they want you to build more & develop more & they want it to be easier for you."

The Campaign to Protect Rural England have been very critical of planning policy:
Futures Forum: Housing myths and housing numbers
Futures Forum: "The proposed changes to the National Planning Policy Framework would further weaken the control of planning authorities over local development."

But it's not all nimbyism and anti-housing:
Futures Forum: CPRE: 'Getting Houses Built' >>> supporting small builders and improving the viability of brownfield development

On the CPRE Devon website it says it's a question of 'balance':

Our mission is to protect the Devon countryside in a way that underpins the local economy whilst maintaining all that is best in the balance between necessary development and a tranquil, productive and beautiful environment. The pressures for new development in our countryside are greater than ever.
