Futures Forum: Neighbourhood Plan >>> "How you can become involved" >>> join the steering group by Monday 8th February
There are many excellent examples out there to look at for inspiration and practical direction:
Futures Forum: Neighbourhood planning @ Frome Town Council >>>
This example has just been sent in by a correspondent, from a town the size of Sidmouth also in an AONB/National Park:
Petersfield is the first town in the South Downs National Park to have it’s own Neighbourhood Plan.
The Petersfield Neighbourhood Development Plan now forms part of the Local Plan policy used by the South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA)when determining Planning Applications in Petersfield. It was formally adopted by the SDNPA on the 21st January 2016.
The Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan:
Sets out a vision for the future of our town.
Allocates land to be used for housing and for employment. Find out why we have to have at least 700 new homes.
Says that 40% of all new homes should be delivered as Affordable Housing.
Allocates land for homes for local people, including around 112 plots for people to build thier own homes.
Allocates and protects our green spaces – with 47 hectares of new green space, including nearly 22 hectares of the eastern Causeway fields and 2 hectares at Merritts Meadow which will be protected from development.
Designates and protects our community assets like The Festival Hall, school playing fields, community centre and the sports facilities at Penns Place.
Seeks to preserve the quality of our built environment.
