Futures Forum: Say No to Sidford Business Park > more photos and reports from Monday's protest
Here is the campaign's own report on that - plus more news:
Campaign Update 11
Public Protest
Firstly, a big thank you to the more than 80 people who turned up last Monday to protest against the planning application for the business park. We walked down England’s close to the site and along the cycle/footpath that skirts it up to and out onto School Lane and back via the traffic lights at the Rising Sun.
Along the way we stopped a handful of times to discuss the objections to the planning application that were pertinent to each place. It was great to see so many homemade placards on the protest.
It was a good humoured protest but with a serious message. Throughout the protest we were accompanied by a reporter and photographer from the Sidmouth Herald. An excellent report was carried in last week’s Herald but the one it posted on its Twitter feed had more photographs.

Residents march to say ‘no’ to plans for Sidford Business Park development.
Petition
We have had two successful Saturday morning stalls in the Market Place in Sidmouth and will be having another stall on the morning of Saturday 18 August. Our door to door collection of signatures for the petition have also gone well in Sidford and Sidbury. We now are starting to move down Sidford Road towards Sidmouth.
If you are willing to help out on the stall, and/or to help collect signatures door to door on Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th, Monday 13th, Tuesday 14th or Wednesday 15th from 6.00pm until 8.00pm, your assistance would be most welcomed. Please contact us if you can assist.
Poster Boards
We have had more volunteers to place the large poster boards in people’s front gardens than we have been able to buy! We see that as a positive sign. We are therefore having to review where we place the boards for maximum impact.
Although, we have managed to put some of the poster boards up we are still in the process of getting around to all those whose locations we can use. Apologies if we do not end up using your property but our funds are limited.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best wishes
