Regenerating Exmouth seafront >>> HemingwayDesign portal launched

The seafront at Exmouth is being developed - although not to everyone's expectations:
Futures Forum: Regenerating Exmouth seafront: a posh restaurant and a watersports centre

However, there might be something positive coming from the appointment of HemingwayDesign:

Transition Exmouth reports in its latest newsletter:

At last, Hemingway's Portal

The Hemingway portal has been launched:
Thanks to Jane Ashton for the tip-off. I did ask EDDC a week ago when this would happen but heard nothing from them and although I am away and relying on the on-line edition, can see nothing in the Journal. Likewise there is nothing on the EDDC News page nor on their dedicated Queens Drive page.

A detailed assessment of the portal questionnaire will take us some time but our initial reaction is that we are disappointed the portal has been opened 'on the quiet' without apparently a PR 'launch'. EDDC's timescale for Hemingway's report must be in danger of over-running but we were promised that this Portal would be an essential contributor to that process and that he would not move on until he was confident that he had demographically-balanced responses; we can only express disappointment therefore at the lack of fanfare!
In any case, please all visit the portal and respond to his questions about the future of Queens Drive.

Exmouth - Opportunities for the

Queen's Drive Area

HemingwayDesign, specialists in coastal renewal, have been commissioned by East Devon District Council to build a vision from and for a key regeneration location on the town’s seafront. The ‘Queen’s Drive site’ is a special location with the potential to be a very different place and a driver of positive change for the whole town, its economy, culture and profile. Similar to a number of coastal towns, Exmouth is tackling the challenge of attracting younger generations and new visitors to explore its shores. Already we are starting to see change happening with the temporary play area and event space on the site (Queen’s Drive Space), offering a taster of how things could be better.
