Give and Take Fortnight, A Pop Up Shop with a difference!!
There are no strings attached. Each day you can come along and take away up to five items for absolutely no charge!!
The shop will run from 6th to 21st February in the old Gees shop opposite Boots and will be open 10am to 4pm daily except Sundays.
The project has been made possible by grants from the Big Lottery Awards for All and Devon County Council Local Amenitys Fund. They will be paying all the shops overheads and rent. However in order to make it the success it also relies on members of the public, and that includes YOU, bringing along all their unwanted household items to give away. PLease note you do not have to bring along goods to take things away, but it does help!!
Anything you have at home that is in reusable condition, can be carried by one person and that you no longer need, can be brought along. Toys, clothes, garden equipment, kitchen equipment, household linens, ornaments, household furnishings, books, CD's and DVD's are all welcome. And if you have big items such as beds, tables, wardrobes etc. you can bring a description/picture plus your contact details to be displayed on a special noticeboard in the shop. If you bring mains powered electrical items these will be passed on to the new Refurnish shop next to Morrisons where they have an electrician who can PAT test them, but everything else, including battery powered items will be kept at the shop for others to take away.
We hope you will agree that this is an innovative idea that as far as we know has never been tried in Crediton before.
If you would like to help in the shop during the two weeks we would also love to have you. It will take a lot of people to keep it covered for the full 13 days we plan to be open, so if you can spare a few hours to help out it would be very useful. Please contact Esther on esthermann174@yahoo.co.uk as soon as possible.
Thank you. Please write the dates in your diary or on your calendar straight away and start having a good New Year clear out now in anticipation.

Sustainable Crediton - Give and Take Fortnight, A Pop Up Shop with a difference!!
And here's an update from this month's newsletter:
Welcome to Sustainable Crediton's monthly newsletter!
Pop up Shop opens 6th February
The Waste Action Group's 'Give and Take' Pop Up Shop on Crediton High Street begins this Friday 6th Feb at 10am, when it will be opened by Town Mayor Frank Letch. The shop is opposite Boots and you are welcome to pop in any time from 10am to 4pm Mon to Sat until 21st Feb. Bring along goods you no longer need and take away up to 5 items from the shop every day for FREE (except the shop fittings) !! All kinds of household goods, garden tools, childrens toys and equipment, clothes, books and CD's are welcome as long as they are in reusable condition. If your 'stuff' is too big for one person to carry bring a photo and description and we will display it so people can contact you direct. But even if you have nothing to bring along you are still welcome to come and 'Shop'. We are there for all. The shop will be staffed by volunteers, many of them Sustainable Crediton supporters, and has been made possible by grants from the Big Lottery Fund and from Devon County Council Locality Fund. So make the most of this unique, no strings attached opportunity. We look forward to seeing you.Sustainable Crediton - Home
