There have been regular pieces on this blog on 'transparency' at the District Council...
This was part of a series from September 2013:
Futures Forum: Concerns about transparency and lobbying continue in East Devon: pt 3
And this is from several postings from December 2013:
Futures Forum: Transparency and process in East Devon... continued: part three
The latest was last week:
Futures Forum: Development and transparency at East Devon: "The longer this matter is kept quiet the more we think there is to hide."
A motion on lobbying was introduced back in February this year at the full Council
(see also the links re 'lobbying'):
Futures Forum: District Council meets to consider issue of Lobbying ... Weds 26th February
... but the motion was sent on to the Standards Committee 'for clarification':
But what IS lobbying? Confusion breaks out over motion to encourage greater openness - Claire Wright
Part of the problem seems to be the difficulty of actually defining what 'lobbying' is:
Futures Forum: "What is lobbying?"... "Openness and transparency is vital."
Now the scheduled meeting of the Standards Cttee has been postponed 'to allow this report to be prepared' - as reported by Cllr Claire Wright:
Standards committee meeting deferred again for lobbying report to be prepared - Claire Wright
The agenda will be available on-line:
East Devon District Council - Standards Committee agendas, minutes and remit
More reports to follow...
