Plans for Port Royal: anticipating a Regeneration Board >>> ‘Scoping Report for the eastern end of Sidmouth’ to be presented to District Council

Last night's full council meeting was dominated by concerns from residents about the District Council's plans to 'regenerate' Exmouth:

Sidmouth residents have been looking with concern themselves at developments in Exmouth - which might be a promise of things to come:

The uproar in Exmouth about the process and consequences of the Exmouth Seafront Plans, may be relevant to our own seafront development. This evening’s Full Council meeting has already attracted strong media interest. Public wanting to know more are welcome to attend this last Full Council meeting of the year at Knowle Council Chamber. Come early to ensure a seat!

In just a few weeks’ time, on 6th January 2016, Richard Cohen, Deputy CEO, will present to Cabinet his ‘Scoping Report for the eastern end of Sidmouth.’…another date for the SOS diary.

It is unclear why the scoping exercise for Eastern Town/Port Royal should be presented to the District Council: although it is paying the lion's share of the funding, it has been agreed that the Town Council would take the lead:

The Town Council has made it clear that any 'regeneration' of the Port Royal area would be firmly part of its Neighbourhood Plan process:
