Sidmouth Arboretum Tree Day: Saturday 15th June

A very full and fascinating day is promised this coming Saturday in and around Kennaway House...

Sidmouth Arboretum

Sidmouth  arboretum was launched in May 2012 in order to create a civic arboretum, which covers all the land both public and private within the jurisdiction of Sidmouth Town Council. An arboretum is a collection of woody plants, which are trees and shrubs. A civic arboretum on this scale is a unique concept.
There is wide support from the Sid Valley communities including the Sid Vale Association.
We aim to:
  • acknowledge our rich heritage of parkland trees;
  • guide and encourage new planting,
  • enhance the visual welcome to coast and countryside.
We need to ensure a rich green canopy for environmental and economic reasons, and so that our children can inherit a green and pleasant landscape.
We invite you to:
  • Add to our Best Loved Tree by nominating your favourite specimen.
  • Join in the Tree guided walks.
  • Help plant and maintain our trees.
  • Tell us where you would like to see more planting.
