Futures Forum: Sustainable Development: meeting 24th September
the Futures Forum will be meeting at 3.15pm upstairs at the Anchor Inn, Fore St
The questions to be addressed will be:
> ‘What do we understand as ‘development for sustainability’ and how can
the authorities and ngos promote/provide for this?’
> ‘What aspects of life in Sidmouth/East Devon are likely to prove
unsustainable and how can we mitigate such trends?’
Speakers will include:
Cllr Mike Allen, former chair of the EDDC
Local Plan Panel.
Matt Dickens, Planning Officer, focussing on the Sustainability Appraisal.
Paul Hawkins, new Area Representative of
Sustrans Devon, reporting on progress on the Feniton cycle link to
Ottery/Sidmouth.
Derek Chant, chair of the Sid Valley Energy Action
Group SVEAG, reporting on the community energy project.
Derek Smithers, chair of Transition Town Exmouth.
As this is an OPEN MEETING, attendees will be asked
> to draft answers to the questions above
> to provide statements and feedback
