Knowle relocation project: "The great garden grab"

There are several maps of what is 'for sale' at Knowle comes from the agent Savill's brochure:
Exceptional redevelopment opportunity within the popular coastal town of Sidmouth - Savills

The map has been confirmed in media reports:

HOW MUCH OF KNOWLE IS UP FOR SALE? DO COUNCILLORS REALLY KNOW?

December 14th, 2014

Doubts arose at last week’s Public Meeting with Sidmouth District Councillors (organised by the Sid Vale Association, 9 Dec 2014).

Councillor Christine Drew certainly seemed unaware of the extent of historic parkland that would be lost to public ownership, as a result of EDDC’s present plan.
Is she the only one?

Meanwhile, the District Council is challenging the Inspector's ruling that the public have rights of way into the park from its most-used northern entrance:

WMN Letters: Building will destroy park's character

By Western Morning News | Posted: December 09, 2014

In a press release (December 3) East Devon District Council claims “existing parkland (at Knowle, Sidmouth) will be retained for public use”. But how can this be true when the area advertised for sale through Savill’s includes public open space as large as that of the existing offices put together?

This public open space includes the very best of Knowle’s gardens, – the lawned terraces with their magnificent prospect. Building there and down to the south west will destroy the rest of the park’s character, which is bracketed for quality with Killerton in EDDC’s Open Space study.

In addition, EDDC is challenging, at public expense, the Inspector’s decision that the public have rights of way into the park from its northern entrance.
