Coalition government - at District Council level

The East Devon Alliance says it is mounting a considerable challenge to the status quo in East Devon for the District Council elections:

The independent challenge was launched back in February:

Whilst coalition government seems inevitable at Westminster - and perhaps need not be feared

... the question rises as to whether the different groupings at the District Council - Conservative, Liberal Democrat and independents - could form a coalition after the election ... or, rather, whether they would want to...

Elsewhere in the country, it is clear that coalition government is possible at District Council level.
