Sidford business park >>> 'Where is the land for new industrial units?' Possibly at the revamped garden centre...

The business behind the application for an industrial estate at Sidford say there's no room for expansion at the Alexandria site:
Futures Forum: Sidford business park >>> And Alexandria Industrial Estate: "a satisfactory solution could be reached" to the issue of access

There might well be room for expansion elsewhere.

Another story in the Herald is that there might be 'small industrial units' made available at the current garden centre - as discussed on the Say No to Sidford Business Park campaign:

Interesting stories in the Herald today: on Page 3 Ian Barlow reveals plans to buy back the Garden Centre and build industrial units for small businesses. On page 7, Tim Ford asks where is the land? Maybe they could have a chat...

Jane Trevett I read this and laughed... Hope Ian gets the garden centre back.. It's a far better position, on the main road for light industrial use, if they relocate the drive way around the bend a bit!!

Tina Nex Great...in a beautiful area...the land around core hill has been eaten away over the years.
At the moment there are sheep and cattle grazing this land.
We have deer, foxes, badgers, buzzards and l have even seen a red kite from my bedroom window.

If we were to have a census of local people's views on where the 'business park' should be built l think the result would be interesting.
And yes l unashamedly day NOT IN MY BACK YARD!!!!!😠

Tracey Lowe
Tracey Lowe Totally agree with you and like I have to admit it is a case of 'nit in my back yard' but one of the main reasons I bought my house was for the view across to Core Hill. I'm not even convinced the area needs any new light industrial units, there's plenty just up the road in Honiton.

Tina Nex Tracey Lowe to be honest,as much as l loved the Garden Centre when Ian Barlow had it,he and Tim Ford are in this to make more money.
The "Jobs and homes for Sidmouth " is a way to sell the idea.

Tina Nex I should add "probably in this to make money."

Julie Stedham
Julie Stedham Said all along, Core Hill would be the best placed site for the business park ie good road access etc. Could probably also be built in a similar in-evasive style as the vets

Sharon Bates
Sharon Bates Oh please do buy it back

Tim Waterfield
Tim Waterfield Lorries will still come through sidbury/sidford to get there from honiton/A303 just because they can and it's unrestricted!
