Futures Forum: Fairtrade Fortnight in Sidmouth > 26th Feb - 11th March
This is from the latest press release, giving a little more info:
Sidmouth has been a Fairtrade Town for just over a year (in August 2016
we received our certificate) although Devon has been a Fairtrade County for over
10 years.
It is the second year that Growers have visited Sidmouth College - last
year Isaac , a Cocoa farmer from Ghana and this year Victor and Esther Tea
growers from Kenya and Sidmouth Primary School held a Fairtrade poster
competition as well as an Assembly about Fairtrade.
The Churches and Sidmouth Library have been involved with Fairtrade for
many years and ‘Sidmouth Fair Trade Group’ was formed in 2014 to try to expand
community involvement.
We were delighted when the Town Council repainted the ‘Welcome to Sidmouth
‘ boards and added that we are ‘A Fairtrade Town’
We have a place on the town website and a Facebook page.
We also have a Banner up on the sea front during Fairtrade Fortnight.
And here's some info about tomorrow's big events:
