Listed Buildings in Sidmouth, East Devon, Devon
Although the District Council does not see them as a priority:
Unfortunately we currently only have one Conservation Officer available and therefore only have the capacity to provide pre-application advice regarding works to Grade I and II* listed buildings. We will not give advice related to Grade II listed buildings until we have more capacity.
Listed buildings - East Devon
Following on from research by a correspondent, if we look at a list of Grade I and II Listed Buildings in East Devon:
Exmouth has 128
East Buddleigh has 61
Honiton has 104
Buddleigh Salterton has 40
Beer has 25
Sidmouth has 358!
And to compare with similar towns in other parts of Devon:
Sidmouth has 358!
And to compare with similar towns in other parts of Devon:
Teignmouth has 133
Tiverton has 290
The East Devon List is not split out from Devon and you can see the numbers on this page:
Not only does Sidmouth beat all other East Devon towns by a mile but it is
by far the top of the table for the whole of Devon.
There is of course the ongoing saga at Knowle:

But the Knowle is not a nationally listed building:
