First Sidmouth Repair Café gets off to great start
PUBLISHED: 12:30 18 October 2018
A project launched to encourage people to mend objects rather than thrown away got off to a ‘great start’.
During the first ever Sidmouth Repair Café, around 30 items were repaired - including clothing, electric gadgets, broken ornaments and lamps.
Angie Carney, who leads the project, said: “This was the very successful first session. It’s a real community thing - lots of days were brightened and much fun was had.”
Angie said they’d had really great feedback from satisfied customers
Chief fixer Dave Rafferty was really pleased with the repair team. He added: “What a fantastic start we made.”
Organisers have also appealed to any volunteer fixers who wouldn’t mind helping out, in particular an electrical repairer and bike/skate board/scooter repairers. Contact Dave on 07977 064 498 if you’d like to join the team of fixers.
The next repair café will be held tomorrow (Saturday). All are welcome to come along.
