The tradition has been held in the village every September for more than 1,000 years.
It launches on Saturday, September 9, with a scarecrow competition asking participants to create a mannequin based on children’s television characters old and new.
Entries should be bought to the parish rooms at the church between 10am and noon on Saturday for judging. Prizes will be awarded to the best under 16 and adult entry.
An informal church service will begin at 10.45am on Sunday before the popular fun run and walk which has four routes to test competitors.

Runners and ramblers will need to register at 10.45am ahead of the 11.30am event. A hog roast will be available from midday and prizes will be handed out at 1pm. Entry forms are vailable at Drew’s, the Red Lion or the village website.
Church Street will be packed on Tuesday (September 12) with visitors looking to experience the traditional hot pennies event. The warm pennies will be thrown over the churchyard wall for the primary school children to collect.
There will also be stalls, country clay shooting, displays in the church and a livestock and poultry sale at 2pm.
At 3.30pm the Jordan Cross Memorial Duck Race will commence with rubber ducks floating down the River Sid to the finish line at the Millennium Green. Cash prizes are on offer to the lucky owners.
Organisers have also set a number of competitions during the week for budding photographs and artists.
This years theme is something green and all entries will be displayed during Fair Week. Application forms can be found at Drew’s Butchers.
Residents can also share their photographs showing Sidbury at play of the fun times in the village. Anyone who would like to contribute can contact Neil Thompson on 01395 597324 or email neil.sidbury@btinternet.com
The rest of the week includes a pub quiz, harvest thanksgiving service, individual skittles challenge and ends with an equestrian pleasure ride on Sunday, September 17.
The ride costs £10 for children and £15 for adults and starts between 10am and noon. For more information contract Jan Prettejohn on 07989436105.
