Knowle relocation project: and housing at Manstone >>> "there has been no decision made that this site shall not be allocated for housing"

The relocation project trundles on, despite any and everything...
Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project: "No council would want to merge with one that is going to take out a big loan for its own new headquarters."
Futures Forum: "Is Sidmouth to become simply a ghetto for the super-rich and a cash-cow for the Council? "
Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project: PegasusLife grounds of appeal

Even though it's costing a fortune:
Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project: selling, borrowing, speculating
Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project: What are the costs to date and what are the projected costs?

In April of this year, questions were being asked as to how much the Manstone site for new District Council offices would cost:
Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project: adding Manstone to the bill
Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project: StreetScene moves to Manstone >>> "There is no mention of how much office construction would cost: it MUST be added in to relocation costs."

Whereas in April of last year, the District Council seemed keen to fulfills obligations under its own Local Plan:
Futures Forum: Manstone Depot: "The council has a growing appetite to build its own council housing."
Futures Forum: Plans for Manstone: the draft Local Plan and 20 new homes >>> but no buyers and no affordable housing

Meanwhile, further requests for information about District Council policy have been made:

Manstone

During the tender process for the sale of the Knowle and Manstone depot sites, EDDC withdrew the Manstone site from consideration, quoting that the financial offers for the Manstone site were not sufficient to justify the relocation of the facilities existing on the site, (Savile's report on the tendering process).

Since that time, EDDC have applied for Planning Permission for a storey building on the site, (16/2526/Ful)

Please let me know if EDDC have decided that the site of the Manstone depot shall not be allocated for Housing of any type, (bearing in mind the decision to withdraw the site from housing on cost grounds and the decision to build an office there), and in any event, supply documentation of any any correspondence, records of meetings, (both internal and external), which have relevance to any decision.

The answer from the District Council was as follows - with a double negative:

You asked:

Please let me know if EDDC has decided that the site of the Manstone depot shall not be allocated for housing of any type and ..... supply documentation of correspondence, records of meetings which have relevance to any decision.

I can confirm there has been no decision made that this site shall not be allocated for housing and therefore no documentation is held in relation to meetings or discussions about such a decision.

You refer to planning application ref 16/2526 in yoru request and you can view relevant planning documentation here http://planningapps.eastdevon.gov.uk/Pla...
