Plans for Port Royal: anticipating a Regeneration Board >> Scoping Study consultation > Economic Evidence Report

Reference has been made to the paucity of information given by the consultants and officers at the consultation on Port Royal last week:

It is really not clear what evidence was used to put together the 'concept proposals' - although perhaps it will be forthcoming at a later stage...

One such piece of evidence was that commissioned by the Drill Hall Hub a couple of years ago - which provides some basic information, plus an assessment and recommendations:

This report is in four sections: 
1. An economic profile of Sidmouth. 
2. Tourism Trends in Sidmouth. 
3. Sidmouth Drill Hall’s potential contribution to Responsible Tourism. 
4. Recommendations and next steps.

One would have to ask why this study and concept should not be considered as one of the many options - including the EDDC-led proposals currently out to consultation:
