Futures Forum: Therapeutic garden project now open to the public at Sidmouth Victoria Hospital
The final project was put together by landscape designer Mike Wale:
It will be interesting to see how the planting performs over the coming months. Below is a set of photos showing before-and-after scenes, with the comment from an observer:
Comparing the attached before
and after images reveals a remarkable transformation from a disregarded soulless
space to an inviting courtyard animated by Purbeck stone paving and raised
islands.
The organically shaped flower
beds have released more circulation and seating space considerably improved by
replacing the concrete flags with much more attractive stone
paving.
The hospital now offers an attractive sanctuary in which folk can
relax and enjoy the wonderful natural landscape.
